HILARY SAYS REVIEW:
Dr Barbara Strum Hyaluronic Serum (for Darker Skin Tones) claims to provide the skin with a smoother appearance and create a more even complexion, provide intensive hydration and reduce visible signs of wrinkles.
Firstly, $300 for a Hyaluronic acid serum??? Secondly, it’s really strange that they have a different Hyaluronic serum for darker skin tones. To be fair, there’s an extra ingredient (Hydrolyzed Algae Extract) in the serum for darker skin tones, which is supposed to help with hyperpigmentation, there is no data/research to prove that it can. Research shows that it can help improve skin hydration and is also an antioxidant.
Here are the beneficial ingredients in it:
– Humectants (attract water molecules to hydrate skin): Butylene Glycol (also penetration enhancer), Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate
– Lactobacillus/Portulaca Oleracea Ferment Extract (Purslane): Rich in Antioxidants (Vitamin A, C, E & Glutathione) and skin soothing.
It contains ingredients that will hydrate the skin and keep it plump but not $300 worth. You can find better hydrating serums for a fraction of the price.
