Stratia is a skincare line that started in 2016 and is owned and run by a “chemistry nerd” Alli Reed from Los Angeles. She also runs the blog called The Acid Queen. Stratia has a small line up of skincare products; Liquid Gold is seen as the brand’s superstar product. Let’s find out why.
“Liquid Gold is a lightweight but powerful moisturizer that fortifies your skin’s moisture barrier to help heal, hydrate, strengthen, and soothe. Liquid Gold is formulated with ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids to mimic and strengthen your natural moisture barrier. By healing your dehydration and replenishing that fatty mixture in your stratum corneum, you can address the above symptoms and discover healthy, bouncy, resilient skin.” – Stratia Website.

HILARY SAYS REVIEW:
This is another product I use and love! I know the name can be somewhat misleading but it does not have actual gold in it, which is good because gold can actually irritate the skin. It is a great moisturizer that contains beneficial ingredients like ceramides, fatty acids, cholesterol, antioxidants, niacinamide, propylene glycol and sodium hyaluronate, which will lead to softer, more radiant skin if used daily.
The skin’s barrier has a bricks & mortar structure: the bricks are skin cells and the mortar is a fatty mixture made up of ceramides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids. This mixture helps hold skin together by forming a protective layer that limits moisture loss and protects against visible damage from pollution.
Age and sun damage reduce the effectiveness of your skin’s natural ceramides and can eventually deplete them, which weakens your skin’s barrier. If the skin barrier is compromised, it can lead to drier, rougher skin, wrinkles, irritation, redness, and visible signs of dehydration.
Liquid Gold has 4% niacinamide, which is great for helping maintain your skin’s barrier function, so it can trap moisture in better, and keep irritants out. It’s also helps decrease wrinkling, fade hyperpigmentation, reduce appearance of pores. Antioxidants help fight off free radicals that cause skin damage. Sodium Hyaluronate and Propylene Glycol are humectants, which attract water molecules to keep the skin hydrated. This product gets a BIG YES from me!
