SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Combination Antioxidant Treatment

Vitamin C is a powerhouse ingredient known for its many benefits, which include being a potent antioxidant to fight free radicals, promotes collagen production and helps uneven skin tone (brighter skin). There are so many Vitamin C serums out on the market that actually do not work because Vitamin C is a very tricky ingredient to formulate with.

HILARY SAYS REVIEW:

Skinceuticals discovered the synergistic antioxidant wonders of L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) + Alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E) + Ferulic Acid. Skinceuticals patented the combined use of these 3 ingredients in its optimal ph between 2.5 – 3. Since then, many brands have tried to copy the winning combination by formulating their products out of the patented pH range.

It contains 15% L-ascorbic Acid, the potent form of Vitamin C, which is known for its excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. To know more about the effects of Vitamin C on the skin and picking the right form of Vitamin C to use, read here.

Research shows that when 15% ascorbic acid is used with broad-spectrum sunscreen on a daily basis, it can significantly improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and sun damage. Vitamin C is also known to help boost the free-radical protection ability of sunscreen when applied underneath. In order for a vitamin C serum to be effective it must be formulated with pure L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) at an acidic pH within the 2.0-3.5 pH range and have a concentration between 10-20%.

The serum also contains two other potent antioxidants – Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) and Ferulic Acid. Ferulic Acid is quite new to skincare but it is known to provide sun-protective and antioxidant benefits to the skin and also enhances the antioxidant benefits of Vitamin C and E.

Although this product is pricey, it is well formulated and will definitely give you desired results. So it’s a thumbs-up from me.
