Orma Skincare is one Nigerian skincare brand I actually really like. I tend to run away from local brands because a lot are not open and honest about the ingredients in their products and I won’t review or stock a product that doesn’t have a clear ingredients list. I use this Spot Eradicator Mask and I love it. First time I got it, they had issues with the formulation so I gave feedback and they worked on it!
“This ‘tingling’ deep cleansing mask contains essential nutrients that combat breakouts effectively and also fade away acne scars. It absorbs excess oil leaving skin clearer and removes dirt from pores, which minimizes the appearance.” – Orma Skincare Website
Glycolic Acid, Tea Tree oil, Activated Charcoal, Water, Glycerin, Bentonite Clay, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Ceteryl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.
HILARY SAYS REVIEW:
This mask claims to combat breakouts effectively and also fade away acne scars. It contains some ingredients that can back its claims – 5% glycolic acid, Tea Tree Oil, Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay.
Formulating with glycolic acid is tricky and if the pH of the formulation isn’t right, it won’t work as it should. The optimal pH for glycolic acid is about 3.8 and their ph for this product ranges from 3.5 – 4.5; which is good….although I will advice to keep pH between 3.5 and 3.9. Glycolic acid is a chemical exfoliant, it dissolves the glue that holds dead skin cells together so new skin can shine through. It will also reduce the chances of dead skin cells blocking your pores which leads to break outs.
Activated Charcoal is great for absorbing oil and dirt from pores. Tea Tree Oil has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties; it’s effective for dealing with acne. Bentonite clay is an absorbent, which is also helpful for those with oily skin.
All in all, great product!
