All living beings have stem cells – Plants, Animals, Humans. Stem cells are mother cells; they have the potential to become any type of cell in that organism.
The stem cells found in skincare products are plant-based (not human based), so unless you are a plant trying to synthesize chlorophyll, they are not going to do you or your skin much good. A stem cell can only turn into any part of the organism it belongs to. Plant stem cells can become branches, fruits or leaves but they’ll never turn into human skin or any other part of the human body. And even if the stem cells in these creams were derived from humans (which would be controversial), these stem cells would not be able to penetrate deep enough into the skin’s dermis to take action. And if by any chance, stem cells were human-based and able to penetrate to the bottom of the dermis, it’s unlikely the cells would be effective by the time they made it from the lab and the packaging facility to your skin.
Stem cells must be alive to work and turn into any part of an organism. I can assure you that living stem cells are not being put into these skin creams. If they were, they would need a special growth medium and be kept at a specific temperature. They simply cannot survive in a cream that sits on a shelf for weeks or years.
Basically, plant stem cells are glorified antioxidants…..nothing more than that; so you don’t need to spend a fortune on stem cells to get your antioxidant fix. Don’t buy into the hype!
