HILARY SAYS REVIEW:

This is one of the most well known luxury creams available, retailing at a whopping $490 for a 100ml tub….but is it worth your money?

The main ingredients in this cream are Algae, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Lime Extract, Microcrystalline Wax, Sesame Seed Oil and Eucalyptus Leaf Oil. Unfortunately, all these are found in many products at a fraction of the price. Algae extract, which is at the top in the ingredients list isn’t a rare, exotic or expensive ingredient. Algae is used as a thicker, water-binding agent and antioxidant in skincare. There is some scientific evidence to show that algae has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties, however, it is readily available in so many products and it certainly doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Petrolatum, Mineral Oil, Microcrystalline Wax are common moisturizing agents found in products like Vaseline.

The reality is that this very basic cream does not contain anything particularly unique or extraordinary. Looking at the ingredients list, this cream should cost no more than $25. Many cheaper products (even a Nivea cream) will give you the same or even better moisturizing effect. It is a total waste of money.
